What do we do?

The emphasis for the third day is hands-on practice with the new NST sessions. If possible, you might chose to visit a functioning training center and facilitate one of the lessons with actual New Staff.

This gives the Trainers the opportunity to see some of the new paradigms in action – small, interactive group learning rather than lecture format, shared leadership in teaching – while also becoming familiar with  new session materials from the sample curriculum.

You could also accomplish this purpose by having the Trainers teach each other a session or facilitate a  small group, so that they get to know the new materials and get practice with an interactive teaching style.

This PowerPoint includes many tips for preparing to facilitate a session for new staff by asking questions, considering learning styles, adapting for contextualization, and more!

How else might you creatively help the Trainers to get familiar with facilitating the new sessions?
