What if the biggest barrier facing neurodivergent people in your team or ministry isn’t them but the environment they work in?
That was the question at the heart of a five-week training, called Neurodiversity in Work & Ministry, a series designed to help leaders, teams, and ministry communities create spaces where neurodivergent people can genuinely flourish. Not despite who they are, but because of it.
That five-week training has been recorded and is now available for you to work through at any time! Over the five sessions, you will work through the foundations of understanding neurodiversity, the language that shapes culture, what different neurodivergent profiles actually experience in work and ministry settings, and (most importantly) the practical, often simple adjustments that make a real difference.
What I’ve seen over and over again is that neurodivergent people are not the problem. The pace, communication style, meeting structure, and unwritten expectations are where the barriers usually live. Most of them are easier to shift than we think.
This training isn’t about creating extra programmes or lowering standards. It is about building the kind of understanding that leads to better language, and better language that leads to a different culture. One where someone with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or dyspraxia doesn’t have to mask who they are just to keep up, but where they can bring their creativity, their focus, their honesty, their big-picture thinking, and actually be seen for it.
Better Language = Better Culture
Each session includes practical reflection, honest conversation, and one small step to take in the days ahead. Because real change doesn’t usually start with a policy. It starts with one person deciding to ask a different question: not “What’s wrong with them?” but “What helps them do their best?”
What will help them do their best?
