Thanks for following along on our Recruitment blog post journey. We’ve reached the final post of the series.
While LDHR might not always have as many one-on-one recruiting conversation opportunities, it often leads many other activities vital to effective recruitment:
-
- National recruiting events – LDHR is often there to organize, host, administer, and assist with ministry-wide recruitment evenings, days, or weekends (e.g., Life Investment or Life Objective Seminars), maximizing the investment of individual ministries.
-
- Coordinate the national recruitment process – LDHR also often leads in setting the timetable, coordinating the activities, ensuring the delivery of training and materials, and encouraging the staff in their efforts.
-
- Track the national recruitment process – LDHR can help by tracking and measuring progress, identifying gaps, reviewing efforts and initiatives, and identifying lessons learned for the next year.
-
- Survey New Staff – to learn about how they experienced the recruiting and application process.
-
- Connecting and being available – Recruitment is about relationships. Being available to talk with potential applicants, their parents, potential supporting churches, and others involved brings the relational nature of our ministry alive.
These elements of the recruitment process will usually also require help from others. Remember the first principle from this series: everyone has a part in recruiting. Who could help you with this process?
We hope this series has inspired your recruitment efforts. Here is a document (and slide deck) that includes all five recruitment areas in one place.
Again, if you have suggestions or questions for us, please do leave a comment. We’d love to hear from you! You can also write to the LDHR Llama at llama@cru.org if you’d like help with something. May God bless you with many new laborers for His harvest!
