a new leader is appointed, he\/she starts to become painfully aware of unexpected changes and challenges that will be faced in the transition. There are a number of elements that affect a transition.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being prepared to deal with transition stress \u2013 identifying the stressful elements and addressing the issues<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Making the required mindset changes \u2013 with new responsibilities come necessary shifts in approach and mindset &#8211; this can often be the most surprising change<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learning new skills and competencies \u2013 most transitions require a different set of skills than those developed before<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Understanding the impact on key stakeholders \u2013 people from both the old team and the new team will have different reactions to the change in leadership<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many of these elements can\u2019t be controlled, but being prepared, understanding, evaluating, and prioritizing the issues that can be managed or minimized is essential.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u5b78\u5712\u50b3\u9053\u6703\u7684 <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1Jc4dwgsLH5-vrfJ3XfN5CdCJTIwTnttmRDZYuHtv_N0\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Leader Transition Worksheet <\/b><\/a>is the key tool we use to help a new leader become aware of elements that may affect a fruitful transition<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The new leader (with the assistance of a transitions coach) completes this worksheet and assesses the potential impact of each transition element, then proactively plans to deal with each one.
