Gary Runn has written an <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1TGwvc82iOJ0bySIw0M5lwfbwtkleiNxQwtIO00e3A6c\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">excellent article<\/a> included in the Heart of the Leader session, found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ldhr.org\/ru\/development\/leadership-framework\/\">Leadership Framework<\/a> page<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gary says, <em>\u201cThe heart encompasses our mind, will, and emotions. It is our governing center. It is that part of us that chooses every day. That\u2019s why it is so important to lead with a whole heart.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We all know that leading wholeheartedly is much easier to say than to practice consistently. That is because there are so many distractions and competing loyalties that deplete our hearts and ultimately make us less fruitful leaders. Gary mentions many such heart deflators including:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">pressures of ministry<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">allowing the ministry to become our source of spiritual life<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">unconfessed sin<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">drivenness<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">felt expectations of the organization<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">broken relationships<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">and many others&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Each of our personalities and leadership stories makes us susceptible in different ways.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\">What tends to deplete your heart?<\/h4>\n<p>There is good news, though! There are a variety of pathways to cultivate wholeheartedness. Gary mentions: a posture of surrender and being intentional about living the Spirit-filled life, living in community, worship, practicing humility, and many others.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\">What practices have you found that nourish your heart?<\/h4>\n<p>God not only desires that we lead with a whole heart, but that our hearts are wholly His and that we share His heart for the nations.
