{"id":710,"date":"2017-02-08T11:56:41","date_gmt":"2017-02-08T11:56:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nsttraining.org\/?p=710"},"modified":"2024-07-09T18:39:09","modified_gmt":"2024-07-09T22:39:09","slug":"nst-and-volunteers-for-the-great-commission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ldhr.org\/ja\/nst-and-volunteers-for-the-great-commission\/","title":{"rendered":"New Staff Training and Volunteers for the Great Commission"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"710\" class=\"elementor elementor-710\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-63e46d50 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"63e46d50\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-62406012\" data-id=\"62406012\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5293fe18 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5293fe18\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>How can we recruit and train more people to be involved in the Great Commission?<\/strong><\/p><p>During the Global Leadership Conference (GLC) this past summer, the LDHR leaders identified key SHIFTS we need to make to achieve our 2020 goal of 10\u00a0million multiplying disciples.<\/p><p>The first two of those SHIFTS are\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #007398;\">greater spiritual dependence <\/span><\/strong>and a\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #007398;\">volunteer friendly perspective<\/span>. <\/strong><\/p><p>A third SHIFT is<strong>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #007398;\">inspiring, motivating and equipping our staff <\/span><\/strong>for that volunteer perspective.<\/p><p>Related to these shifts, some of the key conversations\u00a0we have had recently deal with\u00a0how to support the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ldhr.org\/ja\/adaptability-and-flexibility-for-catalytic-ministry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SLM Catalytic Strategy<\/a>. The LDHR Area leaders and coaches will also be discussing how to better recruit and train more people to be involved in the Great Commission during their coaching visits and monthly chats.<\/p><p>We lead the first experience\u00a0for training and equipping in our organization. The question also comes to us:<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #007398;\"><strong>What can we do as NST\u00a0trainers and leaders<br \/>to equip our staff with\u00a0a volunteer friendly perspective?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p>Here are some ideas we&#8217;d like you to try:<\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #007398;\"><strong>Make adjustments for the SLM Catalytic strategy and new staff. <\/strong><\/span>What\u00a0can you adjust in your new staff training experience to equip the new staff who come from a Catalytic background and desire to return to that type of ministry?<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>How can the on-the-field training tasks be done in a Catalytic context?<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Consider how to <span style=\"color: #007398;\"><strong>adapt the training materials and expectations for use with volunteers<\/strong>.<\/span> What virtual or short-module deliveries could be created? Which would be the most important topics to cover with volunteers? Who could do the training?<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Review the training materials and <span style=\"color: #007398;\"><strong>make relevant updates<\/strong><\/span> for new tools, resources and vocabulary that has been created in the last five years since the new training was implemented.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li><span style=\"color: #007398;\"><strong>Collaborate across strategies<\/strong>.<\/span> Meet with your strategy (SLM, LeaderImpact, GCM, Althletes in Action, etc) leaders and ask for feedback regarding how to improve the training experience for the new staff they are recruiting.<\/li><\/ul><p><em><strong>What else could you do?
