{"id":1001,"date":"2015-03-07T17:42:21","date_gmt":"2015-03-07T17:42:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gcx.org\/TeamLeaderTraining\/?p=413"},"modified":"2024-07-11T12:19:15","modified_gmt":"2024-07-11T16:19:15","slug":"great-teams-dont-just-happen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ldhr.org\/fr\/great-teams-dont-just-happen\/","title":{"rendered":"Les Grandes \u00c9quipes ne Sont pas Accidentelles"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em><strong>A team is a group of\u00a0people committed to a common purpose<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>who choose to cooperate in order to achieve exceptional results.<\/strong><br \/>\nPat\u00a0MacMillan<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Certainly, when we think\u00a0about \u201cmovements everywhere\u201d and helping to fulfill the Great Commission, the\u00a0need for teams and partnerships is obvious.<\/p>\n<p>The practical necessity of teams is so clear; yet the\u00a0development of the attitudes that\u00a0support great teamwork is challenging.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Look at these verses<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>Ephesians 4 (NLT) <\/strong><em>\u201c&#8230;<\/em><em>Always\u00a0be\u00a0humble\u00a0and\u00a0gentle. Be\u00a0patient\u00a0with each <\/em><em>other,\u00a0making allowance for each other\u2019s faults\u00a0because of your love. Make <\/em><em>every effort\u00a0to keep yourselves\u00a0united in the Spirit,\u00a0binding yourselves together with <\/em><em>peace&#8230;.<\/em><em>we\u00a0will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like <\/em><em>Christ,\u00a0who is the head of His body, the church.\u00a0As each part does its own special work, <\/em><em>it helps the other parts grow,\u00a0so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of <\/em><em>love.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>Philippians 2: 3-4 <\/strong>\u00a0\u201c<em>Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but <\/em><em>in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only <\/em><em>to your own interests, but also to the\u00a0interests of others.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>I Peter 2:17 \u00a0<\/strong>\u201c<em>Respect\u00a0everyone, and love your Christian\u00a0brothers and sisters. Fear God, <\/em><em>and\u00a0respect the king<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These are the attitudes that form the basis for cooperation toward a common purpose. Dr. Sue Jones, in her book <em>Developing A Learning\u00a0Culture<\/em>, reinforces these thoughts by identifying three attitudes in leaders that promote learning, leadership and teamwork: <strong>humility<\/strong>\u00a0(absence of arrogance) about one\u2019s own knowledge and\u00a0skills,\u00a0<strong>respect<\/strong> for others and their\u00a0knowledge and skills, and <strong>trust\u00a0<\/strong>in\u00a0others and their abilities.<\/p>\n<p>These three attitudes are the basis for the ability to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>encourage\u00a0and listen to others\u2019 views, ideas and suggestions,<\/li>\n<li>be\u00a0open with others,<\/li>\n<li>take\u00a0open feedback and criticism,<\/li>\n<li>avoid\u00a0personally judging others<\/li>\n<li>avoid\u00a0personally judging others and be tolerant of differing and opposing views and others\u2019 mistakes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Why are these attitudes so challenging? <\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>What do you do to develop the right leader attitudes?
